Mystery Ship 4 was produced in the standard Vetter Mystery Ship colour scheme.
It was fitted with three spoke Dymag wheels.
The engine was normally aspirated.

Number 4 was used in Cycle magazine’s “Gold Dust Challenge” and then shipped to Germany for testing by Motorrad magazine.

Update: September 2024

I recently received an email from David T who lives in Austria.

David told me VMS 4 was first registered in Austria in 1981.
His father purchased VMS 4 in Austria in 1990.
Unfortunately, in 2008, VMS 4 was involved in a serious crash in which David’s father broke a few bones. Thankfully, he made a full recovery.

Although David and his father would like to rebuild VMS 4, the damage was extensive. Some parts are very difficult to obtain and even when they are available, they can be very expensive.
David sent the following photographs of VMS 4 as it is now.
